Teaching Your Child Discipline

When a child is born into this world all what it knows is to demand, demand food, demand love, demand attention and if its demand is not met the child gets into tantrums. The mother normally gives in when the child is too small to understand that its demands are not be fulfilled each time they are made. But as the child grows disciplining becomes imperative. Disciplining is simply a way of telling the child that it needs to behave in a manner that is acceptable to society and in the long run it will benefit the child itself. The tendency of a child to behave in a way that gives it joy but hurts the other or destroys itself in the long run needs to be curbed and this is called disciplining the child.

Inside the Toy Box: Choosing Best Toys for Children

The need to provide the right toys at the right time in a child's life cannot be under estimated. Buying right toys for children at right age is not a easy deal. It's hard for us to choose the toys for our children in the market from a wide variety.

Toys for Kids
When the kid is in the cradle and cannot grip anything the toys that would attract it would be toys that make a noise and something that is colorful. These toys could be dangled and rocked about so that the child gets engaged in looking at them and that is how a child would enjoy a toy at that age. There are so many dangling toys available in the market. There could be toys that look like animals, jokers and even decorative bells that make a noise.

The Intro to Children Life

Life is an interesting journey. The voyage is like a learning curve that gets steeper as one explores the phases to it. One is oblivious of the fact whether which segment of time may make or break one’s expedition. Yet the base line remains the same saying every peal of time shapes, defines and refines the journey to its penultimate purpose.

It takes 36 months of gestation for a human to avatar onto this orb. He enters the first phase to the tour of life – Baby. The age range defined to this phase is 0-1 years. When a new born is introduced to life he begins with a serious anxiety of exploring his senses and begins adapting to the ambience. This phase marks the commencement of the phenomena called identification. The young one easily identifies the mother and showcases displeasure if any unfamiliar person comes in between. Milicent Washburn Shinn one of the first women to earn a Ph.D from University of California in baby psychology refers the sixth month as ‘The Dawn of Intelligence’ in one of her works, ‘The biography of a Baby’. This is evident through various activities viz. toe sucking. He starts flexing his muscles and tries using it to the fullest. The observation stint too begins in this phase when the baby begins noticing the ceiling fan and the flickering tube light as it glows. The way he tries to fix objects of miscellaneous shapes marks the other arenas of intelligence. The exploration to the baby’s senses reaches its pinnacle and he enters the next phase toddling all the way, the toddler stage.
